More Downtown Parking Available – Around The Corner – Randy Davies

Motorists coming downtown will find it easier to get parking as of today. The city of Chillicothe began striping South Paint Street Friday morning to open up more parking spaces. Spaces were striped and opened around noon Friday between Main and Fourth streets. In one location, right in front of the Foulke Block, three additional spaces, including a handicap space were added. The rest of the project was completed by 3 PM Friday afternoon. An addition of more than 20 spaces were added along South Paint Street between Main and Fifth streets.

This is another step in helping downtown visitors find easily accessible parking for shopping, dining and doing business downtown. We encourage you to park and walk to the many great establishments throughout the downtown area.

A big thanks to the city crews for getting this done and just in time for the opening of the Carlisle Building on Monday. The ribbon will be cut at noon on Oct. 19th as the renovation of this project is nearing completion. I hope everyone can make it downtown for this great event and tour this magnificent building.
