The weather has not cooperated for many of our local golf courses or organizations trying to host outings this year, but Friday we were able to enjoy a great day at the Chamber Valero Cup Golf Outing at Rivers Edge Golf Course.

The day started with breakfast from Crispie Creme and McDonald’s and then the 27 teams hit the course. There were plenty of skills games including a special prize for the golfer who hit their ball “closest to the horse”. (You’ll have to visit the course to see it. It’s usually inside the clubhouse but made a special appearance on the 18^th green for our event) Before the rain made its daily visit to the Scioto Valley, we got all of the golfers fed with Quarter Pounders from McDonald’s grilled special by Schmucatellis and dessert from Dairy Queen.

Congratulations to the team from G&J Pepsi for winning the inaugural Valero Cup and to OU-C and Classic Brands for coming in second and third respectively.

There were nearly 90 businesses who donated door prizes for the outing. A huge “thank you” to everyone for a fantastic day, especially the Chamber crew of Briana and Bobbi for doing an outstanding job getting this year’s event organized.
