honored at awards ceremony

Ross County Safety CouncilBy Marvin Jones

President and CEO

Thirteen area businesses walked away with a “Special” award April 8 at the annual luncheon of the Ross County Safety Council in which firms are recognized for meeting high standards in their workplaces.

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation hands out awards in four different categories to note the accomplishments of companies and organizations from the previous year. Bureau representatives assisted Marsha Bevins, chair of the Ross County Safety Council, in passing out the certificates at the Christopher Conference Center. Bevins is shown giving certificate to Tom Beard of Citizens National Bank.

The safety council is a managed program of the chamber that is coordinated by Rosie Daughters. It is one of the oldest in the state, dating back to at least the 1950s. Membership in the council and attendance at the monthly luncheons can qualify members for a discount on their workers’ compensation premiums.
